TerraNexus


TerraNexus is a scalable 3D Spatial Reference Framework for the Earth. It defines the Earth from its core to outer space at multiple scales – from micro to global.

TerraNexus is a platform that supports multiple DGGS implementations in both 2D (Surface) and 3D (Volumetric) modes. The core technology of TerraNexus is built of a patent pending method that enables any equal-area surface DGGS to be extended to be a 3D equal volume implementation. It is all driven by a unifying global indexing schema (described in the patent) that enables both 2D and 3D DGGS instances (plus multiple other types of DGGS implementations) to work together simultaneously using the exact same API.


TerraNexus is a voxel based infrastructure providing the building blocks to enable the flexible sculpting of virtual worlds.

The structure of TerraNexus provides a consistent basis for interoperability between the real and virtual worlds.


TerraNexus has a suite of internal DGGS implementations that can be built which are all compliant with OGC AS Topic 21.
